Library Transformation

A forest-themed library to inspire pupils

Creative / Install / Signage / Wall graphics

A children's library room with bookshelves, green carpet, green and yellow bean bag chairs, and decor such as hanging owl and fox cutouts, green vines, and wall art.

Background

Just Digital’s Education division partnered with Locking Stumps Primary School to transform a space in their school, into a dedicated school library.

The objective was to create a warm, welcoming, inspiring, and creative space for their pupils; to read, write, draw, relax, research, and dream of anything possible.

Just Digital Education held creative workshops with children from the school to discuss what their ideal library would look like. We discussed themes and images that made them feel inspired and creative. The school children wanted a forest-themed library, to match their school logo, and to provide a ‘home’ for their school mascot – Lockie the owl.

Our Solution

Working with the school, JD Education created concepts and mock ups of how the library could look alongside planning the full installation. We planned the work to take place during half term, to minimise disruption to the school and Just Digital Education provided everything required for the transformation:

  • fitted bookcase

  • grass effect flooring

  • wall vinyls

  • the signage and attachments

  • the proud wall (to display children’s artwork)

  • a story corner for children to write collaborative stories

  • beanbags and cushions

  • creative worksheets

  • design of all elements

  • installation

  • and all the finer elements, such as lighting

The final revamp was an inviting forest-themed wellbeing library, completely inspired by the children from the school, which made it even more special and unique.
