Providing a Calm Room for Dreamdrops children’s charity

Over the past 2 years, JD staff have done an amazing job of raising money for our chosen charity, Dreamdrops. As our sponsorship of this charity comes to an end, we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has contributed, whether that be giving time, a donation or raffle prizes.

We’ve baked (and eaten) many cakes, had summer BBQs and raffles amongst other things, and have managed to raise over £3,000. This money will help make a real difference to the lives of sick children and their families in our local community.

So, what will the funds be spent on?

We will be kitting out a Calm Room in the main reception area of Holly Ward (the children’s unit) including items such as specialist furniture and wall panels. This will be used by children with autism and their families who find visiting the hospital a very stressful and upsetting experience. This room will provide a safe, calm space for them before their appointments.

We’re delighted to be able to help Dreamdrops – Huntingdonshire Children’s Charity, and to help make a difference to our local community.
